History

Alameda Baptist Church celebrated its 50th church anniversary in July 2011.  The church began as a mission of Calvary Baptist Church in 1960 with 28 people attending the first service in a home on 6th Street. That same year the group purchased the present property that consisted of a 5-room house on a 3-acre lot.  The group was officially constituted as Alameda Baptist Church with 70 charter members on June 18, 1961.

Since that time, the church has seen many changes.  It has built various new facilities, it has seen hundreds of members come and go, as well as seen hundreds of people come to Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior.  Alameda has consistently been a loving church family throughout its fifty-four years of history.  Today it continues to have open arms for more people to become a part of the Alameda Baptist family.
